Default antenna broken?

I woke up this morning and turned on my car...the antenna went up and everything was gravy...then after parking my car and turning it off i heard something strange come from the rear...turns out my antenna will not lower itself anymore...

the motor sounds like it still works and when i play with the forever erect antenna the base of it goes down about 2 inches but thats it...it feels loose like its not connected to the motor?

i dont know much about these antennas but would really appreciate any advice...thanks

Sounds like the fiber rod inside has broken....

The antenna assembely is really accessable just above the spare..Im not sure if you can just buy a replacement rod...

Im sure some of the sponsors sell replacement antennas

i dont believe its my motor thats broken because it sounds like its working when i turn the car on and off...it feels as though the actual "rod" is not connected...

is that for the whole thing?....thats not that bad...and even if it sounds like the motors working...with the winding sound...its the gears inside that are stripped thus it wont pull the antenna back down....like i said mine did it...
