Default did i do this right!

alright guys! this might sound corny and all, but i just wanted to make sure i did this right. i checked my coolant over flow and it was low, so i added coolant andadded 1 bottled water in the overflow to top that off. then i checked the radiator and that was low, so i did what the owners manual said added coolant until topped off. but i didnt add water. am i good to go! sorry sounds dumb but i just want to make sure.

Yeah, your fine. As long as you didn't mix coolant colors.

Basically you can put water wherever you want, just as long as you have some antifreeze in there.

Usually people in warmer climates who race a lot run straight water. Water is what keeps your engine cool, Antifreeze just keeps it from turning to ice.

Antifreeze also prevents the internals from rusting or corroding.

You put it in the overflow it cycles through around about when the car reaches operating temperature, you put it in the radiator it cycles through immediately.

In your case it didn't matter. If you are REALLY low, it's generally better to fill straight at the radiator.

At least that's what I was taught.

You shouldnt really put regular water, better to put distilled. I heard over time it could cause a build up of crap in the radiator
