can't be sure without a pic but it sounds like it may be your coolant level indicator. Check that and all your other fluids like oil, brakes, and clutch fluid if its a manual.

That may not be it but hopefully so. GOODLUCK

better idea....those sensors go bad alllllllll the time....unplug the sensor...if you give two ***** about your car, youll know the coolant level anyways, because 1. youll either notice leaks, or 2. you change it when it needs to be changed....the sensor is on the top right side of the radiator...youll see a wire going to it...just unplug it

Oh thats a an idea only a genius would come up with. Never do that cause. 1. stuff happens while your drivin and if you blow a hose chances are the engine is gonna feel it before you do, and 2. Your engine can send itself into a limp mode and you lose alot of power because your computer tries to from damaging the engine and other components so it retards everything majorly.
Plain and simple, [B]Don't do that.

Your computer won't do anything if the low coolant light comes on. The sensor's only function is to illuminate the bulb.

I'm not saying that your comp will neccesarily do any about the radiator level light, but the indicator light will give you a means of knowing something has happened if your driving down the road so you at least have the oppurtunity to check on things 2help avoid any possible damage to your engine. It's a means of first line protection, it helps make you aware that something may have happened.

If my car had one I'd probably replace it, but know several people who just disconnected theirs. GM took them off the F cars starting in 2K.

im glad other "genius's" feel the same way i do.....

man you realize that sooooo many people do this? if you blow a hose...you better feel and smell that stuff, otherwise you dont need to be driving the car. disconnecting it wont set it into limp mode....ive had mine done for the past year...because they are notorius for going out

I'm not saying that just disconnecting the coolant level sensor is going to send it in to limp mode but there are alot of people driving, who don't know what it feels like or smells like when you blow a hose, the indicator light is there for those people and others who simply don't check their levels very often.

Sorry about the whole genius quote, I'm just saying its better off to keep them on there and in working order, especially if you don't know to much about cars or like to check on things frequently.
