Dead short in car... Today I went to start my car, it cranked over a few times then stopped cranking..
I took the truck to school, then when I got home I hooked up jumper cables, and it started sparking and smoking. I unhooked the power distribution block, and the alt, and tried it again, and it still does it...
Also have a brand new red top for it as of today, so its not the battery...
Any ideas?

smoking as in from exhaust?
probably need to clean/new MAF
Mine did that awhile back, it would start up but only stay if i pressed the gas, and it would shoot out black smoke
