my 02 z28 is squeaking really bad. i think its maybe one of the a/c pulleys? i put a new serpentine belt on it and the idler pulley spins fine. i bought belt dressing and soaked the pulleys down. the squeaking is gone now but im sure it will be back. one of the pulleys have to have bad bearings. anyone ever have this problem? if so which pulley went bad
thanks in advance

I heard mine squeaking. Searched on here for all the relevant answers. Then, I observed mine doesn't do it all the time, and found it only does it when I get them wet (drive through a puddle, for example). Probably just the A/C one getting wet and causing the noise, but now I know its not a pulley/belt problem.
Food for thought.

Every morning i have a squeak and i dont know what it is. I just changed my waterpump and got coolant all over my belt. Ever since then the squeak is even louder and last longer in the morning. It goes away but it takes a while.
What can i do to make it quiet?

I have the same problem with my 94. I flushed the cooling system yesterday and got anti-freeze EVERYWHERE lol. Mine got really loud after that. It already made the noise though. I sprayed mine with grease and all that good stuff. But it would only stop for about 5 minutes. I went out and bought a new belt/tensioner/idler pulley. My car also sat for 6 months before I bought it though. So I might as well replace all of it.

Try using a hose (like from a vacuum cleaner or something similar) while the engine is running to see if you can isolate the noise to one pulley.
If you are pretty sure that it's one of the A/C pulleys, I would imagine it's either the idler pulley or tensioner. In my case, the idler pulley was bad. You can replace both for around $100.

Jack the car up and start it up.... use some caution....stick your head under there and listen around the alternator. Squeaks ticks and knocks have a funny way of bouncing around the engine compartment. I for the longest time thought my belt tensioner was bad until I got under the car while running and found it was the alternator bearing going bad.
