Default Tick after Seafoam

So I seafoamed yesterday, exactly according to the sticky. But now it sounds like the infamous "LS1 tick" is back. It went away after my cam and valvetrain swap. Is this normal, I couldn't find anything related to this in a search. Will it go away after I change my oil? I've gone about 50 miles with the seafoam in my car so far...

how many miles were on your engine prior to the SeaFoam treatment. What are the new components that were installed with your camswap? How many miles ago did you do this work?

61K before treatment, never seafoamed before. Went with a TR224R, harden pushrods, 918's w/titanium retainers about 2K miles ago.

Okay, so I changed the oil. Now the tick it louder. It sounds like the sewing maching noise, but more defined. This definially wasn't there before the seafoam. Maybe this is the sound of a cleaner engine? The throttle feels way more sensitive after the seafoam, but still, I'm getting very worried. Can anyone help?

How will I know if its a broken spring? Would there be power loss? This seems typical for 918's.

you didn't break a spring. if you did, it had nothing to do with the seafoam.

what likely happened is your engine was very gunky. that gunk acted as a sound barrier, muffling the tick noise (think of what it's like putting a blanket in front of your mouth while you talk). the tick is in nearly every LS1 out there. it's not a big deal. people put thicker oil in an LS1 to lessen the tick - this is usually a HUGE mistake. there is no reason to ever, ever, EVER run a 20W-50 in an LS1. it's too thick. stick to a 30W or at most a 40W (40W if mobil 1 since it's so thin). having the sound dampened may make you feel better, but it's not making your motor feel better.

i doubt it's anything serious. besides, i doubt you paid much attention to it before. it may seem like it's louder now, but you're just listening harder and overreacting. when you changed the oil, it seemed louder, too. you'll know if there's a problem.
