Default AC issues!!! Will not change setting....

My AC won't turn off of windshield/feet! No matter what other setting I turn it to it just stays on that one setting and it's really getting to me. Not sure where to start looking and hope its an easy fix and not to complicated. Anyone ever have this issue or know of a remedy to fix the problem, if so that would be a great help.

Tried to serch but it's crap right now (not working), so if this has ever been covered just post the link. Thanks guy and gals for any help.

Yep, look for a vacuum leak behind the intake/along the firewall - that's the "default" mode.

I know there's a problem. But how can I tell if there is a leak, can I hear it, feel it? Going to check it out tomorrow. Also if it's loose (@ the fire wall) what's the proper fix?

Thanks again guys.

Normal setup: A vaccuum line will go to a diaphram. The diaphram does the physical work of moving the door to the proper setting, windshield, dash outlets, under dash (on the legs). The diaphram is controlled by your in-dash switch. Possible failures are the vaccuum line, the diaphram, or the switch (in that order). You cannot hear a vaccuum leak, it is too quiet when the engine is running. You could put a vaccuum gauge on it and see how quickly it leaks down. You can follow the lines and look for a split. You can simulate by pulling a vaccuum on the diaphram. Mainly, it is parts replacement until it works. Again, I would go in the order mentioned, line, diaphram, then switch.

How hard is it to replace these part, if they need to be replaced?

Is there any threads or sites that do a walk through for the fix or at least a manual for reference? I checked the hoses by the fire wall and they seemed to be on there snug! Guess I'll try the other two items.
