Catch can or LS6 Conversion?

Catch can or LS6 Conversion? How good of a patch is the Catch can because the place I take my car too said that they could do it for around 500ish, thats including the kit. Its a great place but I am not sure if I should bother getting the Ls6 conversion now that I only drive my car 2 days a week compared to 7 days which I was doing. I am burning about 1.5 qts every 2k miles. How much will the catch can help? Its only 40 bucks and easy to install...
$500 to install a catch can??? I did mine for about $25 in parts and installed it in under an hour. It's been working great so far, it traps quite a bit of oil. I had similar oil consumption to you before the catch can, I will have to wait a while to see how much it has been fixed, there might be other sources of oil consumption too.
Well, a catch can isn't exactly a performance mod. An LS6 intake is. Two totally different things. If you want to do the intake do it. As for the catch can, why not? It's cheap and easy, and keeps oil out of the intake. Oil mixing with the gas will lower the octane number, which doesn't help performance at all. The catch can won't really stop oil consumption, since the oil caught in it is contaminated and shouldn't be re-used. But at least this oil isn't getting into the intake anymore.

Oh, now I get it...I had never heard of this mod before. I wonder if there is something similar that could be done to an LT1? After reading that writeup, I have to say that if I had an LS1 I would probably just do the catch can instead, that seems like a lot of work. Obviously it is a better solution than a catch can is though.
