Hesitant ignition
2002 SS.. 70,000 miles... up until yesterday I never had any problems with starting the car. Turn the key and it was running.
But now it is acting strange, there is a pause where nothing happens, lights go out, then finally it barely starts.
Today it got even stranger, the lights flickered a bit after the pause and before it started up.
Is the battery finally going out on me?

Check your battery terminals. I had a similar problem this past winter, turned out my positive battery cable had vibrated loose a bit. It would act like it was going to start, then all my lights would go out and it wouldn't turn over or anything. A few seconds later it would work. Went to check the battery and found that I could wiggle the positive cable all over the place. Locked it down and it's been fine ever since.

Well, I checked the terminals, they're OK.
But now the car wont start at all... just clicks. but the power door locks are slow and the horn sounded like a slow death when i pushed the lock button. I think my battery is done.

Pretty sure my 5 year old battery is to blame though, but I will certainly have it tested before I buy a new one.
