So while were on the subject, I have the ABS INOP and ASR OFF lights on, pulled the code and it was a:

Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Malfunction (might have said high voltage)

I spun the wheel though and through the TECH 2 scanner I scanned the wheel speeds and it seemed to read properly.

Any ideas?

Fibbado,

If it was a high voltage fault of the rr wheelspeed sensor, it is odd that the sensor reading seemed to be working. I need to check some of the documentation I still have to see if the rear left data is copied to the rear right if it fails out. I will try to do that tonight and get back to you.

When I saw the service manager come in the dealer showroom and asked if I wanted to sit down...I knew I was in trouble. The stealership says that the EBCM is bad and needs to be replaced. They "only" wanted $1,200 for a new one. What is the best alternate plan? Anybody? Anybody?

You can get a used one for cheap off the For Sale forum or Ebay. Make sure you double check if it's for a tcs or non-tcs car. I made that mistake and bought a wrong one.

BTW, that ABS module is for sale. It's for a non-tcs car. If any one wants it, just PM me.

Your problem is very likely a bad ground.

My ABS/INOP and "BRAKE" lights came on, no ses etc, when it was raining alot then after it had dried up for a week they went off. They just came back on now that it has been raining again...just do what Homer does and stick a piece of electric tape over the light :p
