No start problem

No start problem OK, so i was drivin around like a week and a half ago with no issues of any kind. Pull into WAWA to grab a cup of coffee, shut the car off everything is ok(no lights, noises, etc...). Come outside and go to start it, nothing. turn the key on and it goes through to usual light checks, battery has full voltage but when you turn the key to start nothing happens. the starter doesnt even click.
I checked all the fuses-all appear to be ok. Unplugged the clutch switch and tried it-nothin, jumped the terminals on the harness-still nothing. I then think the starter might have went, it is inches from the headers so it kinda makes sense. Tried a starter today and still no dice

Has anyone else had any problems like this or at least have any ideas of what to check next...I'm drawin a blank

i unplugged the switch and jumped the terminals on the harness to make the computer think the clutch was depressed. i didnt check the security light. need to get keys reprogramed if its out?

Try cleaning the battery terminals with a baking soda solution and wire brush, then make sure the cables are good and tight with no build-up on them. If that doesn't do it, my guess is you have a bad battery. It takes a lot of juice to turn the engine over. Lights and everything else can work fine, but the battery still be shot.

so basicly i need a new ignition cylinder and key most likely? does anything have to be reprogrammed or registered. I work for Infiniti and we have to register new keys to the computer when they are replaced.

I have seen this before in a cavalier in my shop. What we were able to do was turn the key on to the run position for approx ten minutes and see if the security light goes out. if it does, the passlock has been reset and you should be able to start the car. if not, you may be looking at a new lock cylinder and key. But try that first. Just leave the key in the on position for about 10 minutes. Hope this helps.
