TH350 transmission question

TH350 transmission question i have a 79 trans am, and its been sitting in my garage for about 6 months. I go and try to start it the other day, and after i start it the transmission is stuck on park when i try to put it into reverse and drive. Does anyone know anything about transmissions? Like if theres something that may of gotten disconnected underneith the car that i might be able to reconnect myself? or do i need a rebuild?
what do you mean by it is stuck in park?
do you mean the shifter wolnt go into gear, or you put it in gear and it doesnt do anything?
if you can put it in gear, but it doesnt engage, your fluid is probably low
