mixing weights of oil?

mixing weights of oil? Hey guys, ran into a problem this past weekend when I was changing oil...I use Pennzoil 5w-30 and poured a quart of 10w-30 in on accident with the 4.5 quarts of 5w-30. Would this have wrecked anything or been bad for the engine?...I did end up draining it all out

Look back or search at the 5,000,000,000,000,000 oil related threads. If you are so new to automobiles that you would drain out your oil for this, you need all the education you can get. Read at least 400 posts before you follow up this question.

...rather safe than sorryBTW I don't like to mix different BRANDS because of the different additive packages, but diff weights of the same band are OK.

sorry chief, I'm not a pro like you...I did a search and couldn't find the answer so I guess I did the next best thing...posted a new thread...it's not like a puppy is killed with every new thread, take it easy
