You bought the wrong car to worry about gas mileage... lol especially being an m4. remember u got 8 cylinders under the hood and none of that displacement on demand crap so theyre called muscle cars for a reason, and that includes eating gas lol

Or, you could do what I did for gas mileage. I got a 1989 CRX. The first tank got me 45.7 mpg without breaking a sweat.

I'm not sure I like all those truck bumpers at eye level now, though...

Big difference on people's MPG - fuel mileage seems to drastically decrease with higher gear ratios. The camaros and firebirds with A4s and 2.90 gears get the best

The base A4 rear gear was 2.73.
The optional A4 performance rear gear was 3.23

I have 3.23

with 2.73's and averaging 75mph work commuting (along with some "city" driving) I pull off 22mpg give or take. Rivals my 6 cyl Olds and sometimes beats it.

I use to get horrible gas mileage cuz i had a heavy foot. So i decided to try keeping the car under 2k rpms at all times and it made a huge differance. When i fill up im usually around 325miles on the trip and the car takes a lil under 14 gallons of gas. It's got 62k miles on it and its an auto, never had a tune up, i change the oil reguarly thats it i probably should clean the k&n filter cuz thats been on for 30k miles now lol.

Do you think it would be able to improve your gas mileage with a custom tune from a shop?
Like I'm looking to go full bolt on as soon as a have the money free and once that is done I'll be getting a tune to get every last bit of hp out of the car. In doing this, is it possible to have them tune for better gas mileage?
I figure it would be, but I thought I'd ask!
Thanks guys
