Default Place to buy safety wire bolts?

There anywhere in Chicago to buy these? Tired of tightening down the torque arm bolts (Moser 12 bolt). I have red loc-tited these things and tightened em down wayyyyyyyyy beyond the recommended ft/lbs with no luck.

Not sure if that's the "correct" name for them... but basically the bolts that have holes in them to run a wire through so they cannot back out.

Not a pin... these actually have a wire that runs through them and you can essentially "link" two bolts together.

Head out to the nearest airport. Go to one of the maintenance companies with the size bolt you need. They should be able to help you out.

I would agree with going to an airport or something along those lines. If you were closer to me I would help you out. Aircraft maintenance should have them, i know it's manditory or all bolts on the engine(s) itself to be safety-wired atleast the airframe I'm on. If you have any trouble and you really need, PM me and I can see what I can do.

If You Get A #50 Drill Bit And Build A Fixture To Hold Your Bolt Just Drill The Bolt Yourself. I Work On Airplanes And When Push Comes To Shove Thats What We Do. With The #50 Drill Bit You Can Use .032" Safety Wire.

The only problem with that is most suppliers require part numbers, there's so many bolts and nuts and screws that everything has a part number and it takes forever to look around for the right size, I somewhat doubt they'll let you walk through their bins to find it too but it is worth a phone call to find out.

was talking to a buddy I work with and he actually is always looking online and contacting airplane suppliers, not the big boeing comanies but the smaller ones for one prop planes like cesnas. but he said they actually have a fixture you can buy for 15 bucks that fits medium to smaller sized bolts and you just have to get the drill bit. He said you can either drill through the corners or straight through the head, whatever you prefer. check on ebay too they've got everything lol
