Lights are flickering??
Ok car has been doing this for a few months now and im finially able to have the time and money to fix this. The lights IE: headlights, dashlights every light flickers like i have a low battery. I have a new battery in the car, and the volts are reading normal even on a volt meter. Im thinking its the alternator is pulling power or not charging the battery properly. Ideas, suggestions solutions???

I have this problem too. Though it's very subtle and usually stops after the car has been running for awhile. I know my serp. belt is worn and am hoping my replacing it this weekend fixes the problem.
Kinda weird b/c my 1991 did the same thing too.

mine was doing that. I had a new battery, cleaned all the grounds and checked all the cables I did find the main power cable from the battery to the alternator was frayed. I replaced it with some 2 GA car audio cable I had around and the flickering went away... but then about 3 months later it got soo bad one night it looked like I was flashing my lights. Next day I pulled the alternator and had it tested. Turned out the alternator was bad so I replaced it and no other problems since.

I recently purchased the car and the voltage guage was dropping like crazy so I put a new alternator in it and while I was at it I changed the belt as the old one was cracked. Just noticed the slight flicker when cold and driving at night. I don't notice anything after it is warm though. Weird!

I replaced my belts last weekend and it didn't solve my flickering problem. I should clarify and say I don't notice the flickering while driving (though that's not to say it's not really there), only at idle.

Reading this thread on replacement alts, two people said their cars flickered from day one, so it could be just one of those f-body quirks.

My old one tested to be fine. I don't know what the deal was with it because it was working fine except for the flickering lights. I kept my old one and hope to get it rebuilt or whatever to put in the race car we're building. Everyone I had talked to about the flickering that said they had it claimed it was a wiring issue and had given me horror stories on how they had to get the dealership to replace wiring. I tried the cheaper route first and it solved my problem.

My 2002 WS6 is flickering too. I only have 25k miles on it too. One thing I noticed... the flickering is not from voltage drops... it is actually voltage spikes, then returning to normal voltage. When my car idles, I get 14.55 volts at the battery. When I have driven the car a while, I get 14.10 volts still. What does everyone else see when idling? (Use an accurate multi-meter instead of the dash voltage gauge.)
