Could just be the sensor, they go bad all the time. My car doesn't have one, think GM took them off our cars starting with the 00 model, some people just disconnect it to keep the light off.

Good info on the low coolant sensor here: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#low_coolant_lamp

Picture of location here: http://shbox.com/1/low_coolant2.jpg

Both apply to an LT1 car, but I'm sure the location is similar.

I had same problem in my 98 TA. Unplugged sensor and cleaned it. Has not come on since I did this over 1 year ago. Or you can disconnect as advised.

mine ended up being PS fluid in the cooling system from leaking PS cooler. PS fluid contamination gunked up the coolant sensor. do a search to get full story/fix.

Ended up being Oil in the Coolant gunking up the sensor in mine. Porus Lifter bores was the cause... GM picked up the tab for a new block in the end but a pain in the *** to say the least.

wouldn't the lifter bores be in the cylinder heads?

dex cool likes to gunk up on its own too. Sensor is a common problem

Lifter bores are in the block.
