Default thinking about de-emissioning

since I live in the great state of Florida where emissions are not a big factor, im thinking about taking off my "smog pump" stuff...not for performance or anything but to clean up the engine bay a little big and make it look nicer...I have the SLP lid with the tube thing on it...I need a block off for that and I was also wondering where I could get block off plates for the manifolds.

does anyone have any advise for me before i decide to do this?

I SAY DO IT! hell i live in cali and i did it, got my block off plates online from the ws6store for 5 bucks...it deff cleans up the engine bay and u dont get the annoying air pump noise on start up...as for plugging the hole in the slp lid not sure about that my lid didnt have a air hose hole it came with a seperate filter for the air tube.

only took 30 min. or so, air pump is in front of drivers side front tire there's like 5 screws in the plastic wheather proofing, pump bracket is only 3 bolts, wireing unplugs, then the 2 bolts on each side of the manifold and its done! i didnt have a prob. but i suppose u wouldnt want to snap a bolt off in ur manifold or anythig. i also pulled the air pump fuse so no juice is being sent to the un-plugged connector... and yes u will have a ses light with codes 412 and 418 on all the time unless u get them deleted...

I think the biggest benefit would be that the gay *** smog pump sound will be gone. Wooooosh. . . . . .

Taking out the AIR is one of the easiest things to clean up the engine bay. I wouldn't hesitate to do it if you don't have emissions in your state.
