no start

hey guys, sorry but i got a non lsx question- my dad has a 96 geo metro with the 1.4l 4cylinder and it starts fine in the warmer weather 32 deg. and up but when it is colder then that i will only crank but wont fire over, it sounds like it wants to but just won't. any ideas? i would greatly appreciate it

whens the last time you did a basic tune up on it? ie plugs, wires, cap?...what type of oil are you running?...are there any codes?...

just recently changed plugs/wires,cap and rotor. i'm running 5w30 oil and there is a 02 sensor SES light.

o2 sensors are a bitch they can do alot of things to your car...i would try that

i am planning on replacing it for him but i doubt that would have anything to do with it not starting,especially in open loop(cold).

its highly unlikely an o2 will effect the start up if the car is running fine after...

check the degree on the distributor...had a problem with a old ford today and cold starts, ended up being the distributor was advanced 20degrees ...

is the fuel pump also priming when you turn the key back...?

ill have to check the distributor but when i turn the key to the run position the fuel pump does prime
