the engine coolant temp sensor is the plug above the #1 cylinder on the drivers side. when i took the car to autozone and had them do an obd2 scan it told them the engine coolant temperature sensor was broken. the temp gauge on the dash would still read the car but the computer couldnt so it would put the car in dummy mode. once i turned the car off it wouldnt want to start again because the computer thought the car was still really hot when it was really at the normal operating temperature
yeah next time it dies hold the gas pedal to the floor when you try to start it again. what happened with my car is that the car thought it was getting too hot and it would flood the engine with gas, if you hold the pedal down and start it it would even out the gas/fuel mixture. my car would have the fans runnning for a minute after i turned my car off which you havent described

I think I fixed it! I replaced the crankshaft position sensor and the belt pulley tensioner today. It started right up and ran for an hour with no problem and the SES light went out. Undoubtedly it was the tensioner that was causing the problem...
Kind of a pain in the *** replacing the sensor in the driveway, I had to remove the starter to get to it.
Thanks alot to everyone who helped me, I never would of thought of it on my own.
