Default A/C clutch squeak

i have a loud whine / squeak when my A/C is off. as soon as i turn on the a/c, the squeak goes away. i'm quite sure it's my clutch on the compressor. i was just wondering if anyone has advice on what to do to fix this.

are you sure that it is the a/c clutch?

if you are i would buy a used compressor off the site if you can't find a new clutch.

i would also make sure the idlers and belt tension pulley that is on the a/c system just to make sure thats not your problem

since the ac uses its own belt take it off and run the engine just to make sure . most of the time it is the ac tensioner .
