Thumbs down Weird electrical problem. windows don't work and Monsoon shuts off?

My 2000 Formula that i sold to me a member here has a weird problem. He stated that about once a trip the monsoon would automatically shut off if on and the windows won't work. I have never had a electrical problem on any of the other F-Bodies I have owned. Has this happened to anyone?

yea I used to have that same problem. What fixed it with mine was there was a small black box under the 2 panels under the dash on the driver side.

The black box is about the size of a 3 by 4 index card and an inch think. It is to the right of the gas pedal. What caught my attention was the box was a tad melted so I took it out and found there was a small burnout in the circuit board. A little soldering later and everything worked.

Now this is on my 94 so I am not sure if its the same on your car. but it was a pretty easy fix. The thing is my stereo and windows never worked and that is what fixed it.

hope this helps

It's your BCM located under the glove box. You can't buy a used one either, Once in a car it registers to that car and that car only.

As far as I know the only thing you'll have to program is the alarm.

Might this not be the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) module?

According to the Shoebox website the RAP module is a seperate piece on LT1s. If it is part of the BCM on LS1s I would try taking it apart first, look for something fixable. Sucks to be you if you need a new BCM.
