Can you change the fuel filter without jacking the car up?
The topic says it, just wondering if it can be done. i haven't changed my fuel filter before and don't have immediate access to a jack and stands, so i was wondering if there is enough room to change it without lifting the car up at all, thanks.

I'd make sure your face is clear, you don't want that **** in your eyes... just changed mine out the other day, had to take a shower before I could do anything... there was a lot of fuel everywhere. you can kink that line up and just kind of jam it up against something for a minute while you grab the new filter.

Yeah don't forget to vent the pressure...I once made that mistake while changing the filter on a friend's jeep and got a high-pressure shot of gasoline straight into my right ear. After 10 minutes of running around the car screaming and cussing from pain, I was partially deaf in that ear for a good month or so. Lesson learned for me

I used to be able to change it until i put strano springs on, now i cant even fit my small head under there without jacking the car up. +1 on making the mistake of not letting the pressure out, what a waste of so much good gas.

x2 on the relieving pressure... It hurts when it goes in your eyes, and doesn't taste good either.

I tried to do mine without lifting the car up with no luck. I ended up grabbing a floor jack, which helped a lot and like everyone said just remember to relieve the fuel pressure. I didnt get gas anywhere but in the bucket I was drianing into and a small amount onto the gloves I was wearing.

Make sure you are in a vented area as well. I changed mine in my garage with the door open..what a mistake. The fumes were so bad a had to take "breather breaks" outside the garage.
