Water under seat Tonight I went outside and was looking for something in my car when i put my hand under the rear seat they carpet under the seat was SOAKED in water...not just a little bit but saturated. What could cause this or is this normal for a 2002 t/a? I wouldnt think its normal but I know some cars are prone to leaking in certain spots
Assuming its a T-Top, I would check the weather stripping. I used to get that when my passenger window motor went out. It wasnt strong enough close the window tight enough to get a good seal. Mines a hard top though so no way the roof is leaking. Water leaks arent normal in any case.
when i was leaking through the top of the window at the back end of the glass, it would run down the plastic sail panel and into the carpet in front of the rear seat. This is very easy to check. Get some one to spray water down on top of the car while you sit in the car and watch for drips.

You should get a water hose and test it. I found my Non-T-top car was leaking around the edge of the weather stripping at the top right edge of the driver window. The sealant had pulled a way fromt eh body allowing water to get in. The water has no where to go exept to fill up the pocket in the rear seats.

Im fairly sure water is not coming from any seals or the top or anything. We got about 8 inches of rain 2 days ago and no leaking that I could tell. I am thinking it is the drain plug deal.
I searched and found this thread. I just picked up my lt1 and it rained a decent amount last week. I made sure when I first got in the car to search for t-top leakage. Everything was nice and dry around the t-tops. No water drips or anything. Then, about 2 days later, I found the small puddle behind the driver seat in the floorpan the front corner next to the hump. Where could it be coming from? I still haven't washed it but when I do I'll make sure to check for leakage. I'm thinking it's probably form the drain plug that was mentioned.
I had the floor plug issue. I stripped the interior to a metal shell. The dealer wanted something to the tune of $40 for 8 of them 
, so I just got some caulking material and applied it to the rim of each plug and reinstalled. I waited a day for it to settle and dry, then did my water hose test again and found that it did not do it anymore. If I had a welder I would have welded those damn things shut, whats the point of it anyway?

**** I definatly didnt wanna hear that the entire int needs to be stripped...Do most cars have the plugs or whats the reason for em? MY wrangler had em but thats cuz you can take it topless and its to get water out..They sound kinda pointless other than being a pain. .....guess thatll be a project for the summer
I had a similar problem once.....I had lake SS in my drivers side rear floor pan. I mean like an inch of standing water contained only to that section. To this day I have not had the problem again and was unable to find where it came from. Tested all the seals with a hose and could not get it to leak and I checked the drain plugs and they were good.
That being said I was parked with the nose down hill and it poured that night, which I never did until then and haven't done since. At the risk of being premature, I'm gonna say it has something to do with that since it never happened before and hasn't since.

I am having the exact same issue. I pulled my interior out and it hasn't rained since and haven't had a problem. I am thinking that it is coming from the hatch though. And I have come to like not having carpet or sound proofing material. You hear everything especially the fuel pump. Makes the GMMG a little louder but I can still have conversations.
Is it possible that maybe the water could be getting in through the tail lights??? I'm having an issue like this also. I can't figure out where the water is getting in at. Seems like the hatch somewhere in the water gutter part of it. I'm hard top too
Yeah but that wouldn't cause water to be in the back seats though.....I know it's getting in from the rear somewhere, just gotta figure out where.
I think I found out where the water is getting in at......check this out. Pic 1 is the back passenger seat area. Pic 2 is where there is a gap between the body and panel. Pic 3 is the holes in the body where I think the water is getting in. I'm gonna go test my theory and see if this is the culprit.
well it doesn't seem to be the problem either.....I tried spraying water for a good 10 mins all around the hatch and passenger side door and rocker panels. I'm getting pretty frustrated.
