ABS INOP... my fault?

ABS INOP... my fault?
Long story short, the wires that run behind the rear driver's seat (follow that?) were somehow cut (don't ask). It was a red and a black wire that were loomed together, both were severed. I started up the car and the ABS INOP light was on. The car hadn't been started in a long time, but I have a hunch that it's definitely due to my slight miscalculation of space available and a razor blade. Can anyone confirm that these wires have something to do with the ABS system? I will check my brake lights when I get home, I read that if a light is out it can trigger the INOP light on the dash...? Thanks.

The wires under the rear of the drivers seat, on the console side, should be the ones that tell if the seat belt is on or not. There should be a plastic junction where the wire harness clips together there. I had one pinched that kept lighting the seat belt light on the dash until I found it. You have a seat belt light on? Don't know why that would be tied to ABS. Or are you talking about other wires there? Do you mean under the rear seat, on the drivers side?

Well it's real close to "under" but I would call it almost behind the bench. They came together in a little square plastic junction box, right? Is it maybe just an odd coincidence that the ABS light came on? This makes me feel a bit better, I'll try and find a wiring diagram when I get to work later.
Anyone know offhand what this little grey box is for? Thanks!
