Wheel stud broke off..
Then try getting the new stud in the hole, you'll need to turn the axle and try all kinds of ways because it's usually too long. If it's too long grind the unthreaded tip off.
Then I like to take some washers and a different lug nut to tighten it up and pull it in. It really helps if you use a good grease, I use ARP moly grease that comes with rod bolts, etc.
The better the grease the less chance of damaging the threads on the stud, and the easier to turn it.
