The only thing I can think of is to try a lower wattage bulb. I have seen a lot of mis-engineered lighting housings on a lot of vehicles. The ones I notice most are the chevy suvs with DRLs.

The heat from the bulb your vehicle calls for is too much for the housing. Try lowering the wattage by about 10-20%.

I'm about ready to say screw the DRL's and somehow making them strictly turn signals...

It's quite ridiculous...

Drill small hole(s) on the bottom of the blinker. Make sure the hole is away from where the bulb is sitting.

I thought about this too. Do you think it will work? I was worried about more water getting in there. But I guess it would have a way to get out then.

drilling a small hole works. i had the same problom on my 98. what it is the seal on top of the blinker doesnt seal tight enough water gets threw there gets on the hot bulb and blows up. if the hole is drilled it has a place for water to exscape.
