He is a professional engine builder named Joe Sherman(PHR contest winner) He told me about a 406" SBC he built for a guy out in Cali. that made 785 hp on Joes dyno, they drained conventional 10w30 and added 0w30 RP, it immediately made consistent 800 hp! 15 hp with only a oil change on the dyno! That is awesome to me, i wouldnt have believed it if this info was coming from almost anyone else but its true! Price on that oil seems much more reasonable to me now! LOL

Are you sure it was 0w30? According to Royal Purple's website they don't make that viscosity.

A brand new Honda might work well with 0w20 but a larger clearance race engine like that would most likely do best with Royal Purple racing 41 or their 10w40.

The thing i noticed that was good about it is during cold start-ups. Before I had this oil...the engine felt kind of rough on start up after sitting all night. But with this oil in it, the engine was real smooth on start-up. Plus it gave better gas mileage.

synthetic is not supposed to be used in clutch type lsd's, well at atleast EATONS! I use AMSOIL! shipped to my door for a good price, it cured my oil consumption problem and has a 25,000/15,000 or 7,500 mile oil change interval depending on which type you use.

They use about 170ppm, compared to Mobil 1 that uses about 80-90.

Even in -9F weather with my car parked outside all night, it started up fine with 10w30 Schaeffer blend. I still wish I put in 5w30 this winter though, I never expected it to be this cold so much, so I figured the 10w30 was a safe bet. I probably would've seen lower engine wear numbers on analysis with the 5w30 this winter. Next year I'll run something more winter suitable (possibly that 0w30 German made Castrol, since it's pour point is -78F!!)

And yes, Schaeffer oil does show lower engine wear numbers in oil analysis results compared to Mobil 1.

I used it in both my Vipers and now in the F-body and never had any issues. It always worked great.
