EVAP, Emission Problems
I need some help guys because I have to have a tag by June 25th. I've owned the car for a little over a month now and have dropped a ton of money and time in to it to try to get it ready for emissions. I've had to replace the knock sensors, buy a new cat, replaced both the front 02 sensors and bought sims for the rears, and I've had it tuned to get the AIR and exhaust codes removed. Close to $1500 when added all up.
Sorry about the whining. Now back to the problem.
The car has NO CODES, current or pending, on a Snap-On scanner. However, it still will not pass emissions. It fails OBD readiness. The 2 tests that will not complete are the:
-Evaporative System
-Heated Oxygen Sensor
I've done every drive cycle I can find and I do them regularly, 2 cold start-ups a day. I've put over 1000 miles on the car since it was tuned, both city and interstate driving. I've also heard that the EVAP test will not clear unless I have less then half a tank of gas, so I haven't filled it up past half.
I don't know what else to do, every mechanic I call says that because it has no codes to just keep driving it and it will clear, but after 1000 miles of doing proper drive cycles and diverse driving, I'm losing faith. Any input is GREATLY appreciated guys. Thanks.
