Engine whine Ok, I am sure this is not the first time you guys have been asked about an engine whine before, its not my first engine whine either. This one has me baffled... Some times when I start up my 'camaro, I get an incredibly loud whining coming from the exhaust, you can hear it from under the hood but is much much louder from the back of the car. Once the rpms reach about 2000 it seems to go a way. I have sat and listened to it, I can hear something turn off then the sound goes away until the next time it starts. It is a loud whining sound. To me it sounds like a vacuum leak but I do not know, I have little to no experience with the LS1. Please help meh! <3 Danyelle

umm, but last time I checked Danyelle was not a guys name... lolz 
its not coming from the exhaust exactly thats just where it is loudest... mind you the car is not moving. Also do I move the thread or does a moderator, I am guessing a moderator. bai bai ~ Danyelle

mine whines too.. i dont know what the hell it is. its on my DD.. i couldnt hear it if it was on my TA.. it sounds like gears.. but its not. i sometimes wish it was a procharger.. haha... it would need to be about 50 times louder though.
