Default Broken Seat Belt Buckle Plastic?

On the Driver side of my 98, the plastic part of the seat belt buckle, the part that keeps the belt tight across your lap, has split.

Is there any way to fix this without purchasing the whole belt? Thanks

Pretty sure the belts come as kits. I have looked through all the catalogs before and I remember seeing them as BELT KITS. I don't think you can order just the belt fastener or just the plastic trim on the belt fastener.

same thing happened to me. and even if you could buy the plastic piece on the buckle, i dont know how you would get it on. so i will stick with how it is for now and get a whole new belt later on. anyone know the pricing on that.

Mine is broken too. I was going to try to glue it at some point but there is not much for the glue to grip so I don't know if it will work.

Do you have a picture? Not sure which part you are talking about.

Also, on the inside of the plastic piece that came apart, there should be a two or three letter stamping designating the plastic material that the part is made of. What is it? (This makes all the difference as to what adhesive you might use on it.)

Well I actually put some gorilla glue to the end that broke and wrapped tape around it, came out after work and it seems to be holding great. I used too much glue and some is showing but its holding so that's what matters. Might want to try this for those that can fix the broken piece!

plastic welder - if you have an air compressor, the welder is only about $35 from harbor freight. it melts and fuses the plastic better than glue.

That is a good idea. I will see how long this gorilla glue holds up! Thanks

Some type of epoxy adhesive will probably work
