need more information on what the car does at 2grand. I had a BMW do this to me and it turned out the cat was no good. im not saying start there but it cud be a problem. Mileage? a fuel filter as well as a fuel pump could be the issue to. lets get some more details on what the car does.

i just installd a new fuel pump.didt fix it. when im driving the car the only way to get it to go past 2k is drop in in 1st. and even when i do that theres no power. i tryed doing a burn out to see if it would do anything and has soon has the motor hit 2k it just stayed there. im lost and thinking of getting rid of it....or set it on fire lol. it back fires at 2k if u hold it and sometimes it will rev up past 4k but idk what it could be. i just did a tune up befor i installed the motor last summer and only put mayb 3k miles on since then.

had a bird come in the shop i worked at before doin the same kinda thing.. cant remember if it was the muffler or the cats that were clogged up.. but ya its more then likely cats are clogged up.. just cut them off and get o2 sim's

yeah, i agree with the last few posts too. MAF or throttle position sensor could be the culprit. I would unbolt the exhaust right in front of the cats. If that doesn't solve it, then go after the other two sensors. It definately isn't the O2 sensors. I drove my car around for who knows how long with wires torn out of one of mine.

When these cars go WOT the MAF is no longer a factor, the car goes to it's command tables, thats why they are tuned in speed density. MAF's factor in for part throttle and driveability.
He clearly has a restriction, I have had that happen on 3 different cars, and one bud's car with a 402 n2o motor, a after market cat popped and a baseball sized chunk had him down 80 hp....
