Default fuel pump and exhaust question

I looking to change the fuel pump but my exhaust will not come apart. I got a slp loudmouth that is clamped together. I took off the clamps but the two pieces of pipe are still pinched together. What should i do? I was thinking of cutting off the slp loudmouth and getting the Texas Speed Rumbler 3" for 249.99. Anyone have that exhaust with stock manifolds and Y-pipe? But back to the fuel pump. Does the entire sending unit on top of the tank need to be off to replace the fuel pump. The pump I was looking at was the one from Graneteli for about 130 bucks.

If you want to try and save the exhaust you have on there now, you can try using a screwdriver or chisel to get between the pipes and bend/separate them. Had to do that a couple of times.

the easiest way in my opinion is cut the fuel pump access door (if your not skittish on cutting your car) its easy. there are write-ups on this and only took me 10min with a dremel cutoff wheel

All I can find is the write up for the LT1's. Is it the same for the LS1's?

no problem, i cut the door on mine and i like having the security there knowing if my pump goes out, i can swap it in 10min

i didnt cut mine to replace a pump tho. i cut it to remove my EVAP charcoal canister on top of the tank to reduce weight so the door is there just incase my pump goes out sometime soon

didnt feel like spending hours cutting exhaust and dropping the tank either

The tank is not hard to drop, I can drop it in ~30 mins and that's working AROUND the i-pipe. Say, "NO!" to the billy way.

As for the exhaust, try using a torch to heat up the pipes and pull them apart.

If I had to do mine I think I would cut the hole--many new cars come with access. Here is a link to a "99 :

Autozone wants 400 bucks for the entire fuel pump assembly. That is crazy. Where can I go around Cleveland to just get the pump for like a 100 bucks. I can't be waiting for 5 days to get one ordered online.
