vic jr. hands down. porting and portmatching it to the heads are a must. hopefully you have a forged bottom end because a big cam and vic jr will easily pull to 7500.

On bigger cubes I'll agree. I have seen too many people not real happy with the Edlebrock set-up on 346 applications unless it's boosted. If your stayin 346 & it's a street car stick with a Fast. If you are goin 402+ in the future then get the Vic but wait to port it until you get the heads for the bigger cube motor.

Yes. I say that to get rid of the potential MAF restriction. Otherwise go with a huge 100mm MAF if you don't want to get rid of the MAF sensor.

Paying for a speed density tune or buying a bigger MAF. Either way you will spend more money. Speed density removes potential MAF restriction completely where 100mm MAF still has potential restriction, maybe not enough to matter but still something. Depending on who does the tuning and what they charge, going MAFless could be cheaper and better.

I was thinking about the same thing for my set up. I am building a 408 with a decent cam and set of Dart 225 heads. I was told that the FAST made the best power down low, which since I have a street vehicle that is what I care about. Though when I spray I might need the Victor Jr. Right now I am just afriad that it would be too soft on the bottom end

Big cam means at least speed density at and off idle and run off the mass from there on out.

On a 346 NA application, the Vic Jr will only hurt you. It is the wrong intake for the job.

On stock cubes I would go victor jr but you need a custom cam to match the intake running length and I would not port it until or if you go bigger cubes.

But if you get a cam also I vote Victor Jr.

Not if you get a cam to match the intake runner length and put the harmonics back in synch. Get it ported for the 408 and then send it to nitro Dave and have him inlay the nitrous spray bars!!! Direct port without all of the lines!

Hmmm, what would an intake like that behave on the street. Where you would spend most of your time? Would it be really soft in the bottom end?

Not if you matched the cam to the intake and bolt ons

Friend of mine with a 402 went from a FAST to a Vic Jr w/o having to worry about porting and for less and gained more than people have with a FAST. But like they said, its only if your going to a larger cu.in.

With matching cam get the Vic. Look at what people keep saying "no gains over the FAST" Ok no gains...but near the same performance with Literally half the price, sounds like a winner to me.
And there is no intake sexier than a Vic jr
