The majority of people on the forum say TSP is the best. I just purchased and installed a clear TSP lid. Haven't been to the track since install but definitely feel a difference in the upper RPM(4k+) especially.

are they all the same? I know one company came out with a new one claiming 10 hp over other lids... which one was that? I can get one brand of lids in town for under 100, but thats the one that cracked so I kinda want one built a little better... my engine torques a lot and has a baker hose so it tends to tear the lid up

I have a SLP lid, but there all the same really. I would say if your going to buy a new lid, get the clear one, or the set up Steve2000SS had (not a lid). Other wise buy one from someone in the "parts wanted forum" for pretty cheap.

Lid is a Lid. Go for the one you think is better in price or appearence.

I have the TSP also, it's a nice lid. The SLP lid is made out of a little bit different of plastic compared to most other lids. The plastic that it's made out of makes it look like the stuff that the stock lid is made out of instead of the shiny black plastic that most other lids are made of.

Just out of curiosity what makes the lids crack. I've had mine about a year and no problems.

On average its 105-110 degrees this week... while in the summer its 110-115+ every day... pretty much anything not metal seems to melt or crack, and no glue has yet to hold through our temperature! so the glue on the lids just melts and the plastic gets too hot, bends and then cracks I guess ?

Damn,I just ordered a silicone hose from baker....

Anyone know if you can soften these things up in the microwave? I haven't had too many dealings with silicone hose.

Yep, you can. 15-20 seconds in the micro should soften it up enough for installation, but it will re-harden after it cools.
