Muffler change only?

Muffler change only? With the size of the pipes on my WS6, would I benefit from just a muffler change? Would the pipes in a cat back system really be an improvement over the stock pipes? The stock pipes look pretty big to me, except for the flattened spot in the Y-pipe under the driver.
My 02 came with a 3 inch and for awhile i had my headers and ory pipe. Stock catback. Then i i just cut the muffler out and added a magnaflow muffler. But you will benefit. It just depends on which muffler. The magnaflow is a great flowing muffler.

As long as you're going to be running stock manifolds, cats, and Y, there's really no benefit to going to a 3" I pipe. Just splice your favorite muffler in and you're doing fine. Save the I-pipe for when you do complete exhaust.

Verdad Gallardo Get a dynomax bullet, or a magnaflow muffler and dump it right off the Y-pipe. Makes power and is still pretty damn quiet.

wow 354 whp! thats good! i'm assuming thats with a tune? so you think if you got rid of the cats you'll gain more? how much more would you gain you think?
