Default lt1 alternator swap

hey guys i have been searching this site for about two days with all type of keywords and have found nothing to answer my question.

i have a 98 transam and my alternator is about to go. so i was wondering if i could swap a lt1 alternator in and if i need a new bracket etc.

also could someone give me a detailed explanation on this check light or w/e i need to wire up since i have a 98. any and all help is greatly appreciated.

dont kno why you would want to do that??? just buy a new one???

Get a stock 99 up truck alt with the 4.8-6.0 same alt different plastic cover on the rear.

that will bolt up? or is there anything i need to do with the plastic cover ?

Just take the plastic cover off of your old one and install it on the new truck alt.
