I personally would still buy the magnaflow since it is stainless steel

Im not trying to sell you on the Jegs, but you must remember that Magnaflow, as well as a few other mufflers, will get louder with time. Magnaflow, in particular, has packing inside that blows out with good driving and time. I can tell you that Chad's Magnaflow definitely has some miles on it, cuz it is the loudest Magnaflow Ive ever heard. I dont know if the Jegs will get louder with time, but I actually hope it doesnt. I have a DMH cutout Im about to install so Id like to keep it quiet when its closed.

 

Another reason, Magnaflow is 3", jegs is only 2.5" but its still damn loud and sounds great.

Btw, on the way back from the mall today, I hit WOT in 5th and that thing gets so damn loud in higher gear+RPMs, it rattled everything in the interior. It was awesome.

 

whats 2.5"? the muffler outlet? or inlet? i assumed it was a 3" i pipe, 3" inlet, dual 2.5" outlets.

and im only teasing you guys about the WOT clips. take your time.

That is correct. I was under the assumption Magnaflow was 3" everything...

 

It says on Jegs site that the intermediate pipe is 3". Where are you guys getting the info that the intermediate pipe is 2.5"??

I found the Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler Catback for 1998-2002 Firebird/Camaro for LESS than the Jegs catback. They list for 419+S&H everywhere else i've looked... Name Brands....

I thought so. I knew it was a 3" catback like everything else. Most 3" catbacks have 2.5" outlets.

 

Thanks for taking the time to write this up. I've been considering making a change from TDs to a catback and cutout. This looks like a great option especially since I have tips I like already.
