Im sure it will work with a GTO/G8/Vette but all would need a taller hood! Camaro you would need a taller hood and cut out your cowl on the car

this is not an ls1 in the pics . the one for the ls1 may not be as tall as that one.

So who did Edelbrock pick as their ls1,2,6 market? Old school hotrods? I understand that crate motors into hotrods is popular, but how many of them actually care about squeezing out every horsepower to go and replace the factory intake manifold for a new one?

Just doesn't make sense.

I agree. Hopefully they will have one that is shorter to fit under the cowl/hood of an F-body. But the runners would probably be even shorter, and plenum volume would decrease..................

not if engineering costs is minimal, then they could justify a intake for that specific market. but i agree, i'm sure they will make it much smaller for us fbody guys. we are the big market

It looks like if they had planned it a little differently, they could have angled the runners a little and pulled from the opposite side of the plenum. This could possibly lower the overall height and increased runner length. Both plusses in my book. Less fitment issues and better streetability.
Either way if it doesn't fit the GTO I guess I'm not to concerned.
It would look bitchin' on the truck...But I use that for towing so I don't want to sacrfice any low end.
My guess is this is more for street rods and other LS equiped cars with out the clearence problems we face.

I'll have to get a fat fender Chevy now just so I can buy this intake to put on it. Endurashine please.

The guy I was talking to said in testing on a stock cube 203cc edelbrock heads/ 207/220, 118 LSA cam LS1 motor they made 32 more horsepower at 6300 vs a LS6 intake manifold. Also on the same test it was approx 55 horsepower ahead of the LS6 at 7000 rpm.

Other facts he gave me were *unofficial* tests where they tested versus a Fast 92mm LSx intake on a big cube (i think he said 400 something inch motor) with their best cnc edelbrock heads and a 24x something duration camshaft, they made 30+ more peak horsepower over than fast intake and there is room for porting on the edelbrock intake.

He mentioned the runner length etc was much like sheetmetal intakes and there is room to grow with lots of porting on the intake for radical setups..
Also he suggested it would likely fit under the cowl of an f-body due to the throttle body being on the front and nothing sticking up above it.

Its called a "Pro-Flo XT Intake Manifold" Part # 7139 for silver, 71393 for black

Unrelated, I found this video by searching for it on google:

In the video they are using 203cc Edelbrock/lingenfelter cnc heads with a 207/220, .573/.580 lift 118 LSA edelbrock cam (very weak combination in my opinion to test this intake on

I saw the motor dyno pull on page 1...its pulled 480+ hp? With small heads/cam. That would almost put about 385 maybe even alittle higher in the car...not too bad

I talked to someone in their tech department and even EMAILED them. Their reply was that this new intake WILL NOT fit under the hood of the 04-06 GTO with a stock hood

The hell with all this intake nonsense...just keep the LS6..it will do 99% of what most
of us will ever need. Only if you want to flash i higher dyno number then go with another
intake...but for track and even street, the LS6 gets it done with no porting and no inconsistencies. The money can go to better designed heads and cams or headers, things that make the big difference for everyone.

LS6 won't work on a LS2.
