+1 on that. The clothes pins work great. Also have someone help you when you pull the inake off. I was hold the back of the intake up, to keep it from breaking the oil sending unit and my friend pulled it forward. I didn't break mine

the LS1how to site says you have to grind that piece underneath the valley cover, does this need to be done or not.

Be carefull of your injector o-rings as well, mine were hard as a rock and split even though they were lubed when I went to install the injectors.

When I went on a hunt to replace them on a Saturday morning Autozone didn't have them listed and those that did have them listed didn't have them in stock, after doing a bit of part number cross referencing it turns out a '92 Jeep Cherokee with an I6 uses the same o-rings and happened to be in stock at Autozone for $8 for a pack of 12. Just keep this in mind if yours are as screwed as mine were, it's also not a bad idea since you have it apart anyway.

Default grindin

I have a 98 ls1 and when you put an ls6 intake on it you either have to block off the rear steam/coolant crossover tube or do it like its done on ls1howto. I just ground down the ribs on the bottom of the intake. I didnt want to spend the extra cash on the tubes from the later model crossover tubes.

+1 on grinding or tubes. I think someone said to put some grease or vasoline on the tube, then set intake down on that, then pull it away and you will see where to grind.
