SLP LM1 and LT Headers, Too loud?
I'm installing my Pacesetter LT headers and ORY next Saturday but was curious as to what this set-up is going to sound like. I currently have the SLP LM1 catback and will be running it until I can get a Magnaflow setup. I've got a feeling this car is going to be loud as hell and raspy but will it be too annoying? Or will it sound good? I had the Hooker Aerochamber on my 98 and it was quiet but this is a wide open system. Just wanted to get some thoughts on what to expect! Hopefully I'll pick up some good power either way.

Well I do have a Torquer V3 cam that will be going in the car, also I have a FAST 92mm intake and TB set-up that will be installed next Saturday as well. I think with the cam it'll sound a little better but yeah I hear you on the stock motor. This would be a little much. We'll see though, with that Fidanza flywheel snapping RPM's should be nice.

I had LM1 and LT's with catted Y and it sounded like a CUP car. It is way too loud and you will draw too much attention. it would sound perfect for the track, but it is too loud for the street.
My fix was a magnaflow cat-back with electric low profile Cutouts after the cats- before the Y went into single tube!

After you get that cam in there you will **** your pants (in a good way)! Especially when you cold start it! I think mine sounds wicked evil, but I have cats. You can always add Cats to soften up the rasp later on if it becomes too much. Try it out for awhile, its not going to hurt anything. You can always add stuff later to quiet it down some. My .02

It will be too loud. and raspy. at about 25-2600 it will hit that rasp point normal driving and you will have to shift to keep from drawing attention.
I put a ms3 and LTs on my buddys 02 SS w/ LM1, and he got a ticket the next day, and he drives like a granny.
Don't get me wrong, it sounds cool, hell I run around with my QTP switched "in the death to all" position, and I thought his car was too loud

Yeah I think I'll run it and see what it sounds like with the cam, if it's too loud then I can always add a Dynatech powercat and electric cutout or something. I'm excited to hear the car now. My 98 was an automatic so with LT's, an ORY and that Hooker catback the car was still too quiet. It sounded good but wasn't the way I wanted it so maybe this setup will have the sound I'm looking for. Luckily the cops aren't bad around here, they really don't care because I'm out in the rural parts of Tennessee.

fast forward to around 1:20 seconds.
And if you watch the whole thing, disregard the start-up. That sound was a fluke that has never happened since that one start up. Not sure why that happened.

too much rasp imo. i've seen clip of it and there was rasp popping across the band which didn't sound good, and thats coming from a lm1 owner so im not biased against.
i'd get something different like bassani. too many people have magnaflows.
