Default Should I get a Cutout?

Sup guys,

I have a H/C WS6 with 400+RWHP. 3 1/2" LT Hooker headers, 3 1/2" Hooker catless y-pipe, and a merge to a 4" exhaust back to a mufflex muffler. Would it be worth getting a cutout? My car is looooooud already, would a cutout make it THAT much louder? I've seen some cutout vids on youtube but a camera can only record so much..

Also what are some good cutouts out there? Where do they go exactly also, if it's at the front of the Y pipe i'm gonna need a 3 1/2", if not, i'm gonna have to find a 4" i guess?

cut outs are cool for the street well the electric ones... you will get louder and then like at a stop light you can just flip the switch and rev up to some tuner or something lol but the electric ones can have a hefty price... well to me any way but a local muffler shop owner has a dyno and he dynoed a couple cars with and without exhaust and the difference was like an average of 5 hp gain which to me isnt anything at all... they can be better for drag racing it jst depends every car is different... if there is any way you can un bolt your exhaust and go to the track try it and if you run faster i would get a cut out if not well i wouldnt unless you want it for fun...

Can't see why or how a cutout would/could outperform a 4" exhaust.

The video link in my sig shows my 11.60 car with open cutout...but on a 3" I pipe, not 4".

Here's a few others:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWm8o...eature=related

BTW, mine made less than a tenth of a second difference in ET over a tried and true SLP dual/dual catback.

Not looking to gain anything, I wanna be even louder
Any suggestions for brands? Also does anyone put them on the y-pipe? Like said I think a 4" might be hard to find

Cut outs are fun as hell! I loved mine. I went to true duals tho. Might have to go back to the y pipe cause of emissions tho. If so, there will be a cutout on there!!

Hahah sounds sweet! Well if someone could be so kind () as to tell me where the cutouts are installed in the exhaust, and a brand name (unless their all the same) to look for, i'll be set

Do it. You won't regret it.

I went with DMH and have not had a single issue. Plus it's backed by a 5(?) year warranty.

One of our cars with a 402 with qtp headers/ypipe, 4" mufflex and our 4" electric cutout gain like 15-8hp open vs closed over the 4" system.

I wouldn't get it. My car is already loud but I wanted to get one for the hell of it. I ended up not getting it though.

I have my Exhaust setup similar.. 3" Y'd into a 4", then reduced to a 3.5" about 16" down from the Y, 3.5" Cutout off of that, and it ******* LOUD..lol
