!!!Installing Pacesetter Longtube headers!!!
This install will happen tomorrow at 8am. I had a couple of questions and I did search so give me as much info as possible. What tools will I need? What do the bolts need to be torqued down too? Do you recommend I soak the bolts in PB blaster before trying to take them off? Is there any good write ups on this? I have a GMMG C/B and I'm wondering if I need to take it off when installing these LT's. Also, I'll be installing some NGK TR55 spark plugs and I'm wondering if I should install them as is or gap them. I installed these same spark plugs about a year ago out of the box without touching them and they seemed fine. What do you guys think??

10mm for the header bolts. dont worry about soaking them. i didnt see u mention a new y pipe do u have one if not then the stock one will be a huge restriction between your longtubes and gmmg catback

I don't remember the exact size sockets you'll need...10mm, 15mm, swivel, a few extensions. And the NGK TR55's come pre-gapped. But, I checked the gap on mine before installation. It can't hurt and only takes a few minutes. Good luck

Air tools make life easy, air ratchet and impact gun.
I just did a header install today for a friend.
PB blaster on all bolts
10 mm sockets, deep well and standard size
15 mm sockets, deep well and standard size
7/8" open end wrench for oxygen sensors
10 mm gear wrench
15 mm gear wrench
5/8" plug socket
3/8" ratchet
1/2" ratchet
various length extensions
swivel joints
i wouldn't worry about gapping the plugs. i didn't gap his and his car runs great. i would put some new plug wires on there while your doing it if the car is getting close to 100 k miles.
you don't need to remove the catback.
you will need block off plates if you intend on removing the air/egr system from the car. you'll need a 1 3/8" expansion plug for the intake if you remove that stuff.

+1 for the air ratchet. And if you are using a lift, it will be very very simple. My pacesetters slid right in on the passenger side, and a little shove on the driver side. Soak all your bolts in PB for sure. And you might need a mini torch for the cat/y-pipe bolts. (Very prone to snapping while removing but i guess it does not matter it all goes to the dump ) GL and have fun!

pb blaster the bolt on the y-pipe and cats i didn't and most of mine broke. If you dont get any that break you can sell you old exhaust manifold, cats, and ypipe to a person returning there car back to stock thats what i did. I also reused my manifold bolts instead of using pacesetters, and i reused my stock gaskets only 27,000 miles on them tho. I did poly motor mounts bc pacesetter header sit close to the floor of the car so alot of time the ypipe will bang Mine didn't tho bc of the motor mounts.

If your car is a 99' like in your sig the passenger side cat should be in the y pipe. other wise on the drivers side I did take the cat off the manifold but I don't think you have to.

I'm done with the install, BUT right now its open headers because when I connect the y-pipe to the driver side header the pipe doesn't seem to allign with the I-pipe. What could be the problem?

Your using a pacesetter y pipe right? It probably just needs to be in all the way on the headers for it to aline right. I remeber the y pipe being a pain in the *** to put on.
