Default Bosch green-tops too much for h/c?

picking up a set of bosch green tops with my FAST setup.

they are flow rated at 42#...but i'm told at the lsx pressure they are more like 50#.

assuming i get heads on my car, with the 233/233 cam and all the bolt ons....~450rwhp....are these too much injector?

i realize they're more than needed, but will the over-kill be enough to hurt performance?

obviously they would be installed and the car tuned for them.

Anytime we do Trickflow heads and a large cam package we will use the 42lb injectors. If you have a good tuner then there shouldn't be any problem with tuning. They definatley won't be over kill.

good to hear...

i mean its not like they are absurdly large.

and if by some miracle i ever get around to (meaning save enough $$) build the stroker i want...i won't have to buy new injectors

It's not like putting on a carb thats WAY bigger than an engine needs...as long as the tuner can get the injectors to idle well, you will be fine.

If your tuner can't get green top SVO's to idle well, you should fire him.

The 42's will give you a bunch of room to grow. Personally, I prefer the 36 lb/hr Bosch Design III's but the green tops are fine.

now you have room for spray.

You are fine. A lot of people go with 42's on H/C packages.

I have 42s in my cam'd LS6. I was at 106% duty cycle on the stock injectors at 436 rwhp. These give me room to put heads and a FAST on the car.

depending on your tuner's preference and what your options are, you have good potential with that setup.
Worse case scenario you drop fuel pressure a little bit. Green tops spray better ~3bar than they do at higher pressures.
