found some other results here digging around for info on this intake. Here is a comparison from Lingenfelter on a LS7 427 shortblock with 12:1 compression with the 65 cc chamber Edelbrock heads. First one is a ported LS2 vs a FAST 90 and the second one is the Ported LS2 vs the TPIS 90MM LS6.

SO 4HP and 2FT LBS TQ difference???

If I remember right, the LS6 is suppose to be better than the LS2. I wonder how close the ported LS2 flows compared to a stock LS6.

I figured being on a 427 the intake would have more of a gain. I'd be interested to see the comparison on a 346. I guess GM did do a pretty good job making the LS6 intake.

^^^^ good question. I was wondering the same thing . what we need to see is a stock LS6 V.S. a TPIS Modded one. I don't think it would be hard to make a 90 LS6 at home just need a LS2 mani and a LS6 one to cut up on.

Exactly. I want to see a stock LS6 compared to the 90mm LS6. Screw the LS2 intake, I read somewhere that it sucked and was one of GM's worst designs. It's the LS1 intakes retarded cousin or something similar.

haha dude, i was just using that for comparisons sake next to a fast. Disregard WHAT intake it is and look at the diff. between the fast gains and the tpis. Not a whole lot.

Thumbs up

heh....no, I wasn't dissing your post. I appreciate you posting it. It does show this little hopped up LS6 can hold it's own if you can believe dyno graphs. I put my order in and shipping mine off tomorrow for the upgrade. I only wish I would have done another dyno run since I last did my heads and cam to get a comparison. Oh well, once I swap in a Polluter cam in a few months, I'm hoping to be close to 450 hp in the end and that will be just fine with me for a nice street ride.

Thats very true....the actual LS6 plenum is designed damn good....and it performs great once the they mod the LS6 to except a 90mm TB. Theres no bottom end tq missing and it rocks in the mid-range right on up!!! If i didn't install one myself and experience the increase i wouldn't think the TPIS intake would have made that much of a difference. But it does. I saw the comparo as well...they did it on a 427 and the Fast made only a few hp over the TPIS/Lingenfelter. And it only cost $350 for the mod if you dont mind sending in your intake, that way theres no core charge Great value and nice jump in power at a much better cost.

Anyone have airflow numbers for an intake with the TPIS 90 mod to compare to a regular LS6 intake & ported stock TB?

It would be really cool to see some flow bench data on this too.

Nice pics does it look like they just used a new snout or is it a new snout and new tube behind it till it hits the actuall intake?

O ya wonder how hard it would be to make your own throttle body instead of buying one?

very hard. Would need access to autocad, and a cnc machine, let alone trying to fit the butterfly and arm, push in the bearings, etc. Lots of work.
