Speed Density??

Really a good speed density tune is not going to change much from day to day. Some of you guys act like it would be the end of the world if your temperature or elevation changed. I guess a lot of you forgot millions of people drove carburetored engines and never once changed the jets while traveling.
The only real time I would see the need to change your tune is when they add 10% ethanol into the fuel around winter time. This is only if you desire max performance though.

The advantage running SD is a vastly improved throttle response off idle and any time you want to goose it a little. The MAF has to "think" about it very briefly and throttle response just isn't as crisp with the MAF. That's my personal experience.
And yes, tuning the VE table takes time. 1 hour wouldn't get it.
If I were tuning for a living I would have the Moats RR to make real time adjustments and then flash the results to the original PCM. That would save a substantial amount of time. Normal method is to drive and log data, use data to recal VE & then reflash PCM. Drive and log data again, rinse & repeat. It does take hours upon hours.
I never had to make any weather/climate change adjustments when running SD. The only reason I went back to the MAF was to prove to myself that I could make it work.
I like SD better & I'm going back to it.

I'm curious about this too. I want to get my MAF out of my engine bay. I'll make something if I need to, but I'd prefer a bellows with a bend in it already that I could just connect to the lid and the TB. I guess I'll look around at silicone couplers with bends in them already.
