No code after !EGR
No code after !EGR So I did my intake swap today so other than shreded forearms all went well.My question is how long till it throws a code? I just started it in the garage and let it warm up for a few and no SES. I really cant do a test drive the Hawk is in winter mode right now. I will have the codes deleted in the spring if needed, just was wondering if it takes awhile to throw one.

just because the egr isnt actuated at idle doesnt mean it wont throw a code.
mine did as soon as i turned on the key and thats what they should all do. theres a position sensor internal to the valve and that circuit is now open and should therefore set a code.

different years and different PCM's (as well as different flashes from year to year in the same PCM) react differently
Also, in a 2000 flash (what was in my car stock and should also be in his 2000 hawk):
P0400 "EGR Flow Malfunction" "No error reported"
P0401 "EGR Flow Insufficient" "MIL on first error" (this requires driving)
P0402 "EGR Flow Excessive Detected" "No error Reported"
P0404 "EGR Open Position Performance" "MIL on second error" (OP only started the car once, not twice)
P0405 "EGR Position Sensor Circuit Low Voltage" "MIL on second error" (this is the code you're saying should be lit...it probably will be next time he starts the car)
So depending on which code, we're both right. Some of them require driving, some of them just require a couple startups to see electrical EGR problems.
