Even if sheet metal intakes lose a little down low and are not ideal for every app people still spend big $ for them. They could have shortend the runners some and would have sold a ton of these things??

If you read more into the thread in the gen III forum you will see its roughly 8.5" from the valley cover to the lowest point of the cowl. Which means you will need to get about 1.5" of clearance to fit this thing under a stock unmoded ss hood. I think...

I have a 4" cowl hood, but the problem would be the cowl itself. They are loosing alot of customers by having it too tall.

I am not an old man, but my old car will have one of these (likely) and will DEFINITELY see WOT several times a day

Can't wait until they hit the shelves. I have an iron 402 I am building for boost. This would look wicked under the cowl hood of the 66.

We will see how much modification is necessary on an f body before i think about it. Its pretty ideal for the vettes, just get a bad *** cowl hood.

Shawn, would this be better to use in a turbo setup over a Vic jr type? If so, I would have to use a 90 going into the TB as it goes back to the A2W IC, would that be alright?

This intake will def be better that a carb style intake, but will require some work to make it distribute air better.I'm going to get my hands on one and mod it to fit the f body as well as some internal mods.If it works out well i sell them fully modded

Sounds like a plan. I'll stick with the Vic jr for now and see how this is looking when I do a head swap later this year.

Why? Not that I don't believe you, just wondering what makes it better.

Any large open plenum feeding equal length runners will have better distribution than using a carb intake, with unequal runners, and a very sharp elbow on top.

I agree about the elbow, but what about just comparing intakes. ie this to a carb intake with a carb style TB sitting on top of it?

Again..carb still has a small volume of air before each runner, of different lenghts and shapes.

A large plenum feeding each cylinder with an equal runner, will perform well. Almost like a large LS6 intake. lol

Well, I hope Shawn can make it fit on an f-body w/o too much work!
