That may be so with the 80 series muffler, but LS1s sound fantastic with a traditional 40 series or even 10 series muffler. IMO a dual setup with 10 series is THE best sounding exhaust you can put on an LS1.

Hey i had longtube headers ORY and corsa exhaust with 228/232 110LSA cam and let me tell you i had ZERO rasp. No BS, my Y was a great design, I had 3" collectors then the Y was immediatley stepped down to 2.5 inches with flowmaster reducers, through magnaflow gutted cats and then in to a flowmaster merge (2.5" inlet/3" outlet) into Corsa Exhaust. My car was an auto which tends to hide rasp in compared to a six speed but it sounded absolutely great with no rasp or popping AT ALL!!!!!!!! Good Luck!

Bah, just go with high flow cats. ;P My exhaust sounds great, practically no rasp with the high flow cats and as you can see in the sig, I have longtube headers.

My Y is the same design as yours except my cats are not gutted and it goes into a GMMG. I still had rasp. I had to put a powerpack in my I and Hooker resonator tips to get rid of it.
