Default tfs 235 with ls7 head gasket?

called trick flow. was told the bore isnt going to work on a 6.0 MLS gasket and a 235 head, that i needed to use a ls7 head gasket.
TEA told me not to use the ls7 headgasket. as mentioned the water ports are different.

can anyone give me input. already wasted money on a set of 6.0 gaskets, dont need to do it again.

trying to stay on the budget side if its ever possible with a build like this.
i just dont understand why the two companies would give me different answers.
the guy at trick flow just fumbled the gm part # for the ls7 gasket right out. didnt even have to look for it. said i would be fine.
engine business gets confusing sometimes, even when you get an asnwer you think you wanted to hear.

I run the LS7 head gasket with TFS 235 and no problems. The holes are only slightly off.

1 hole is slightly off on LS7 gasket, i'd rather use a cometic or Fel Pro 1161 gasket 4.100" gasket bore

So the bore are 4.030 and the head is 4.100 and they say use LS7 4.150 and fel pro gaskets or cometic. they have a 4.125 bore. So looks to me Ls7 or fel pro or cometic would be fine. I would get fel pro or cometic. Any one else???

Sound's like the reason they say not to use them is 1 hole is slightly off and some people dont want to chance it and get something they know is 100% right.

Yes the ls7 will work, but with the whole being off i would think there is a chance for it to blow?

First of all I did not fumble for the the part number. I gave you the GM part number that we used in testing on our dyno, which is the LS7 gasket. I also gave you that part number yesterday when you PM'd me. Certain companies have their opinion. You asked what we recommended and I told you what would work.

The problem is not with the head, it's with the block that is used.

The GM LS7 gasket will not work on a 6.0L iron block, it blocks off half of the water holes.

The GM LS7 gasket will work on an LSX block and the LS7 block.

Which block do you have?

maybe fumble was not a correct word. but you called out the # like you knew it off the top of your head. ?
what block did you use in testing?
thank you for your recommendation. its always good to get 3 or 4 people to give you advice, then make your own desicsion from what you have learned.
not trying to start any arguements or bashing one company from the next, id just like some advice.

i have a 6.0 factory production block.

would an l92 gasket be a good choice? it has a 4.094 bore measured.
id rather not use a cometic.

the gasket is only 4.03x. the head i believe is 4.100.
not sure what effect this has on performance or longevity.

i have measured a 6.0 gasket at 4.036 myself.
i have read several threads where the l92 gasket is 4.080 "max bore"
i had someone measure one and it came out 4.090. another member here posted up it measured 4.094. depending on the gasket, or the mic, im sure some of them are 4.100. the difference there is minimal.
ls7 gasket is 4.150. i dont know specifics on the compressed. only what ive seen posted.

I was faced with the same delimma on my 6.0L iron block, I bought the LS7 gaskets and found they wouldn't work. I had to bite the bullet and buy Cometic.

TFS also sells the gaskets you need.
